Have you ever wondered what it be like to bring your biggest, wildest, brightest dreams to life? To make a life of adventure straight from your imagination & soul?

Today’s guest is one of the most brilliant creators that I’ve ever met across art AND business.

Jared Betts is a painter, founder of Moncton Taco week, the caretaker of the Shediac Lobster and so much more. While he typically speaks mostly in emoji, his words on this episode are some of the juiciest ever.

We talk about Jared’s art being in collections all over the world, his influences, tacos, lobster, peonies and so much more.

How did this all come to be?

Jared began the show by sharing that he was born BOTH in Moncton & in a parallel Universe at the very same time. We moved on to stories about his childhood growing up in a creative, musical family - citing that his parents, brother & sister have all always been very supportive of his adventures. A clear sign to his future was found in his 2 favourite classes in school: recess and art.

On to NBCC Miramichi for animation, and then NASCAD for art school, then residencies in Iceland and Costa Rica, and you can begin to piece together that Jared lives his life as an outstanding adventure and it comes as no surprise that his art is all over the planet.

Moncton Taco Week?

What began as a fundraiser with 18 participating restaurants has blossomed into an annual celebration that featured 48 restaurants this year! And while Jared’s favourite Tacos are the ones he creates on his own, Les Brumes du Coude received accolades as the most creative taco for their squid ink taco!
